Sophomore wide receiver Marsalis Jackson, playing in his first collegiate game, was selected as the USA South Offensive Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 8.
Jackson set a school record with three touchdown receptions in the Panthers' season opening game against Birmingham-Southern. He had a total of four catches for 127 yards, averaging 31.8 yards per catch. The 127 receiving yards was the second highest in a game by a Panther. Jackson also returned eight kickoffs for 151 yards, finishing the game with 278 all-purpose yards.
