LAGRANGE, Ga. – Following a two-week hiatus, LaGrange (6-14, 0-2 CCS) softball returns to action as they host one of the top teams in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) as Belhaven (15-10, 7-1 CCS) comes to town for a pair on Saturday, April 1. As a result of foul weather expected in the area in the morning, first pitch has been moved back to 3 p.m. from the original noon start time.
The Panthers have dropped three of their last four as they split a double header with Meredith (3/11), notching a 9-1 victory in the opener and falling 10-3 in the night cap, before falling 5-3 and 10-0 at Covenant (3/18).
One of the top teams in the league, the Blazers saw their seven game win streak snapped with a 3-1 loss at Huntingdon in the first game of a doubleheader at Huntingdon (3/31). They would then get back on beam with a 4-1 win over the Hawks in the nightcap.
SERIES HISTORY
The series against Belhaven can be summed up in one date, that being February 14, 2018 when the teams met to open the season. The clubs split that doubleheader, with the Blazers taking Game 1 by a 9-4 score before LaGrange claimed a 7-3 decision in the nightcap.
