Coach Earl Chambers has released the LaGrange College 2022 football schedule. The Panthers will play five games at Callaway Stadium. All game times are EST.
Sept. 3 Middle Georgia (Callaway Stadium, 3 p.m.) - The Panthers host the NAIA Knights in the season opener in the first ever meeting between the teams.
Sept. 10- Berry (Mount Berry, Ga., 6 p.m.) - The Vikings were 6-4 last season under former LC assistant Tony Kunczewski. The Vikings won last year's meeting in Callaway Stadium 34-21. Berry holds a 6-1 lead in the series and has won six straight.
Sept. 17- Ferrum (Callaway Stadium, 1 p.m.) - Former USA South member Ferrum returns to Callaway Stadium for the first time since 2016. The series is tied 3-3 and Ferrum has won the last two games.
Sept. 24- Methodist (Callaway Stadium, 1 p.m.) - The Panthers open their USA South schedule against the Monarchs. Methodist was 7-2 last season and finished second in the USA South with a 7-1 record. The Monarchs defeated the Panthers 34-17 in last year's meeting. Methodist leads the series 7-2 and has won the last two games.
Oct. 1- N.C. Wesleyan (Rocky Mount, N.C., 1 p.m.) - The Bishops held on for a 26-21 win at Callaway Stadium last season. The Bishops were 4-6 overall and 4-4 in the USA South. The Bishops have won three straight from the Panthers and lead the series 7-4.
Oct. 8- Maryville (Homecoming, Callaway Stadium, 1 p.m.) - The Panthers take on the Scots for Homecoming 2022. Maryville is one of two teams on the schedule the Panthers have played each year since starting football in 2006. The Scots won 52-16 on their home field in 2021. Maryville leads the series 12-3 and has won eight straight.
Oct. 22- Brevard (Brevard, N.C., 3 p.m.) - The Panthers go on the road to take on the Tornados. Brevard won last year's meeting 20-10 in Callaway Stadium. The Tornados were 6-4 overall and 6-2 in the USA South. Brevard leads the series 5-1 and has won the last three meetings.
Oct. 29- Belhaven (Jackson, Miss., 1 p.m.) - Belhaven is the newest member of the USA South. This will be the first meeting between the Blazers and the Panthers. The Blazers were 7-3 overall and 6-3 in the American Southwest Conference last season.
Nov. 5- Southern Virginia (Senior Day, Callaway Stadium, 1 p.m.) - The Panthers won the first ever meeting against the Knights 38-34 last season. It will be Senior Day and the last home game of the regular season.
Nov. 12- Huntingdon (Montgomery, Ala., 2 p.m.) - The Panthers close out the regular season at the defending USA South champs. Huntingdon won 55-9 in Callaway Stadium last season. Huntingdon is the second of the two teams on the schedule the Panthers have played each year since starting football in 2006. The Hawks lead the series 12-3 and won six in a row.
